This morning was Loki’s first dose on Lantus! Here’s to hopefully more even curves than he was seeing on Caninsulin.
I’ll be testing at +2 and +4, then I unfortunately have to leave for work but my partner will be home to monitor him.
Bonus info: He had an atypical night on Caninsulin (woke up in range for the first time ever today). We were already headed out to his clinic a half an hour away and the vet was comfortable with switching still. The accumulation of his tests aren’t showing a graceful response to Caninsulin. He was 16.7 two hours later so Lantus he got.

Fingers, toes, and paws crossed that Loki will like Lantus. Could you do a favour and put a blank line in the spreadsheet before today, and label it "start Lantus". That makes it easier for us to spot the change.

Thanks y’all. If his numbers from today are any indication, I think this juice is The Stuff check it out. 14.5 at +11 makes me ponder about if I should half or skip his PM shot?

Lantus works differently than you are used to with Caninsulin. It onsets around +2 for many cats, hits nadir around mid cycle and then heads back up. I don’t think you need to skip or reduce the dose. Over 200 even when new it’s fine to shoot the 3.0.

I agree with Elise. SHOOT! If you look at some of the other threads, you'll see people shooting much lower - with experience and data of course.
