Just started Max on insulin today. He is tired. I am so sad for him. Is he in any pain with diabetes

We too started Moxie on insulin on Saturday. He perked up really quickly, his coat is much more fluffy and groomed, doesn't mind the shot at all, although he is still not happy when we try to test his blood sugar. He doesn't like to sit still! Need to work on that.

Welcome to the forum! My Dixie was also sooo tired and slow when she was diagnosed with diabetes. To go anywhere, she would take a few steps and then sit, then take a few more steps... rinse and repeat. When we took her to the vet she was very unfazed and would chill on the exam table. However, after having her on insulin for a couple of months that all changed! She is livelier than ever. I bet you will start noticing some improvements in the coming months

Welcome!! I'm diabetic myself & nope no pain. Not much energy & carb crashes until meds/diet are straight but once Max is on the right dose & diet, he will feel so much better! This is an awesome place for help, support & info! I'm super new too & learning so so much! Big hugs for Max & you too!
