Desi is doing great - and so are you, Korynn
Oh, that's great! I didn't realize his numbers were unusually tiny...but it makes sense because I just can't see giving him much LESS than we are giving him because I just can't SEE on the syringe anything less!Yes, but you are in an unusual situation because his dose is so tiny. What I see is that his preshots and numbers midcycle are gradually coming down. That is not a bad way to get to remission - slowly and carefully. If you'd see a stall and the numbers don't go down, then you could be a little more adventurous.
Ha, tell me about it, kiddo ... I just had to shoot 0.05U Lantus into Bat-Bat! And am about to go blind. (And lose my mind ...I just can't see giving him much LESS than we are giving him because I just can't SEE on the syringe anything less!
Desi goes outside? Does he stay outdoors long, and is he unsupervised while out there? The only reason I ask: If he happens to "supplement" his preshot meal while he's in the great outdoors - ask @Bobbie And Bubba about this with her Bubba, the champion "mouser" - this can make it harder to get your diabetic kitty regulated - and even can impact his BG #s. (Just sayin' ...Mark let him outside right away so I couldn't check for that...not sure.
Yep. it was one of the toughest decisions I had to make was to keep Bubba inside until he goes OTJ (typed with much hope) mice run about 30 calories, (yep, I researched it) and Bubba could easily get 5 mice a day. We have fields behind our house and it was like he had a great big old supermarket at his disposal. Times 5 times 30 and you've got an extra 5.25 oz of can food in the little dickens. Of course the mice are low carb. And it could have been a fur shot like you had thought.Desi goes outside? Does he stay outdoors long, and is he unsupervised while out there? For me, trying to find him outside when I needed a test was way too stressful. Maybe you kitty doesn't hunt or travel far. But if Desi does, it's a consideration.
Desi is not a hunter. He was an indoor condo cat for the first 3 years of his life with my older mom. He used to bring in leaves he had "hunted" when he first went in our backyard. He spends very little time outside, and never goes very far. Despite his girth, he isn't into the outdoors too much.
That is too funny!bring in leaves he had "hunted"
Yeah....what do folks think about Carol's idea of 10/14?Are you still doing the 11/13 dosing? What do people think about going 10/14 to bring the amps lower?
OK but there was no skip - or are you referring to the possible fur shot? I will stick to 11/13 a bit longer in any case.Hmmm. I think I would try 11/13 a little longer. Two of the cycles were messed up because of a skip and possible fur shot. Overall he looks pretty good and you are such a tiny dose.
I thought you skipped on 4/21 pmps.
Can you start a new thread? This one is getting long.
