"Solostar pens in use must not be stored in the refrigerator". Searched the board, and read the sticky on Lantus. I always keep opened and unopened Lantus in the fridge. Been using the pens for a long time with no problems. ..even dropped the current pen twice....sshhh
Anyone know why the manufacturer states this?
Oh, and thanks for the comment about the option of squirting an overdraw dramatically into the air. I needed the chuckle.

That only applies if you are using the build-in injector. If you are drawing up the insulin using a syringe you can safely refrigerate the in-use pen. Thermal cycling of the pen cause the pen and insulin to contract and expand and that can result in drawing a little air into the insulin cartridge. Air in the cartridge can result in inaccurate dosing using the built-in injector.
