Ok, now cat number two has a laceration by her eye...these cats are trying to send me to the poorhouse. I thought it was starting to heal on its own because it didn't look as red but I feel like I should clean it or something. I have no experience, does anyone know the right way to clean a wound on a cat ?

I had a cat with an abcess that I drained at home, the advice given to me was 1/2 water, 1/2 hydrogen peroxide. I'm also a believer of diluted soap, good ol' soap. Do you have antibacterial soap? Or hibicleanse? I would wash 3x a day.

Be VERY careful and don't get the cleaners or meds in her eye. What I usually do when there's a wound near the eye, I use eye antibiotic ointment and just water to clean it. After the initial cleaning using peroxide on a q-tip/etc don't use peroxide again - it will cause the wound to close too quickly. My cats do slappy/slappy play and end up with scratches above their eyes at times too....
