log in to the FDMB, the forum you want to post in and click on Newtopic. Start writing your new post/thread/topic/ condo. Open a second tab in your internet browser and get into the forum where you old thread was posted. find your thread that you want to include a link to.
Take your cursor up to the box in the upper left of the webpage screen, the one that shows the address of what internet site you are on.
Click on that character string which should highlight it. You have just selected a character string, but not copied it to the clipboard yet.
Hit Cntl and C keys (or cmnd C) at the same time. This will copy your text (URL) to the clipboard
Go back to your first tab where you have your current days condo/thread/post/newtopic.
Click on the URL box/button, at the top of the free-form editing box, just below the subject line.
the cursor should be blinking in the middle of the two url url words with brackets around them
Hit Cntl and V (or CMD v) keys at the same time. This will paste your text (URL) in between the url url.
You now have a link in your post to your previous topic/thread/post/condo. If I remembered to tell you all the steps correctly.
Sounds more complicated then it is. I do cut and pastes like this all the time, in excel, in word, from one website to another, in email, etc.
You can pretty it up by giving it a name but need to do things slightly differently. If you would like a "word" link, such as yourcatsname SS, use the following code:
text. replace "link" with your yesterday's condo URL (the one where you did the Ctrl C), and replace 'text' with the name of your yesterdays' condo.
