Just a little update

Mr Buddy is doing well. After going below 90 three times on 1.75, we lowered his dose to 1.5 and his numbers were lovely. He went down again to 3.1 (56) today so we’ll be lowering his dose to 1.25. I hesitate to say it, but I think after nearly 5 months of crazy numbers, he might be regulated. Can a girl hope? (I’m afraid to jinx it)

Those numbers sound much more stable, adjusting the dose like that seems to be working well. Are you following a specific protocol for reductions or adjusting based on each low reading?

I’m using the ProZinc dosing guide pinned at the top of the discussion as a guide. I actually think now we have to go back up to 1.5 because his numbers are starting to be consistently high.

That’s really encouraging—those numbers sound much more stable, and it seems like the dose reductions are working well. Dropping to 1.25 after that 56 makes sense. Fingers crossed he’s finally settling into good regulation!

I just read your post and felt a strong connection! Managing feline diabetes can feel like an uphill battle at times. I remember how overwhelming it felt when my cat was initially diagnosed, but sharing experiences like this makes a huge difference. Your insights encourage me to persevere throughout difficult times. Thank you for being candid about your path; it's comforting to know we're not alone!
