AMPS 404.... surprised not a lot higher since yesterday. I opted for .5 U instead of 1.0. Playing is safe today.
 
Hey! I just realized something, the past 3 days Junior had no boiled chicken breast treats. I ran out. I usually give him about 5 1/2in pieces throughout the day after tests. Anyone think that had any roll in the drop?
 
This is going to sound CRAZY.....But, I have actually read where some of the members on the board have actually said that boiled chicken has increased BGs in their cats.

I realize that is opposite of everything that we read-- as chicken is 100 percent protein etc....and I have never noticed it with my Kitty. I feed boiled chicken to Kitty also. But, I have read where members noticed the unexpected effect of the boiled chicken. I have no idea...just repeating!!!

I had not seen that! Thanks, Kim. I am always suggesting chicken.....

It may be that .5 is not quite enough. Today should give you an idea about that. If so, you can pick a dose around one unit and see what it does. After yesterday, it is a new ball game and you are data gathering again. :-D
 
It's looking like there are factors with the type, quality, cut and preparation of the chicken. Neither cat has ever been into snacks and Junior was just sooooo hungry I wanted to do something. He's been kinda wondering what happened to the chicken but then moves on to something else. I'm just going to give him a tiny bit every once in a while for being a good boy.

At +3 i will resume testing every hour til +8. We need a little break!
 
How much tuna is considered o.k.? They LOVE it. Haven't given in years from hearing it's not healthy for them
 
As long as you buy the kind packed in water, it's fine. Not a whole can, of course. Just a few flakes for a snack. I wouldn't give it as the only snack. Maybe find some organic turkey too - no fillers or additives?
 
I just checked Binky's list for Trader Joe's cat tuna and it has 2 carbs. I have the TJ human tuna in water and there are 0 carbs! Going to check out the turkey at the store today. The chicken has always been free range, organic. Or so they say....

I give Shakes boiled chicken BREAST almost everyday and it does not effect his numbers
I was wondering if maybe whoever was quetioning the chicken
did not give the breast but gave something else like maybe the thigh....
 
I was thinking that too. We made a roaster a few nights ago jazzed up with oil, s & p, and all kinds of herbs. My boyfriend went to give him some and I almost lost it!!!! It's boiled breast straight up or nothing!
