Felix went for his recheck yesterday. It was with his regular vet; Felix saw someone else in the same practice just before he was admitted to the ER two weeks ago. It was mostly to check bloodwork, to see what all his new meds are doing to his kidneys, etc. Comparing June 10 with May 28, it's not too bad, but his vet does have a call in to the cardiologist to see if she's concerned about anything and wants to tweak meds or when to recheck. Labs are posted with the spreadsheet.

He had diarrhea Saturday and yesterday. I started adding some s. boulardii to his food last night. I hope it's just temporary, as dehydration is already a concern and he can't get fluids because of his heart.

Also, when we got home from the vet, Felix's co-cat Whiskey, who is 17 and has kidney disease, had been vomiting a lot and was clearly very nauseated still. I syringed some slippery elm bark mixed with water into her, and she seemed a little better by bedtime. This morning she ate two breakfasts (the first with more SEB mixed in) and was back to her purring self. I was so relieved.

Susan, it’s so hard and worrisome to have 2 kitties to be concerned about ! I hope you get good news from the cardiologist for Felix and status quo for him. Also , keeping Whiskey in thoughts and prayers too.

Hang in there! :bighug:

It looks like the only value that's over threshold is BUN -- creatinine and phosphorus are normal. I would wonder if this is from the meds. How's Felix's blood pressure?

Also, did the vet ever run a proBNP level? This is a test to see if there is cardiac muscle damage due to excessive stretching of the muscle tissue which can cause damage to the heart wall. It may also give you an idea if the condition is improving over time.
