yesterday's post

Radar has a tooth that is bothering him which could explain why he's been quite insistent about only eating food that's been properly warmed for him in the microwave. :cat: We will have the bad tooth removed but we have to wait until next week when there's an opening in the vet's schedule. He is eating pretty well in spite of the bad tooth and his numbers aren't really too bad either.

I'm still hopeful that he will earn a reduction before his dental surgery....

So based on today's numbers I again don't know if I should hold or raise the dose.... My inclination is to see if he goes down tonight and then revisit the possibility of a raise. ??? But I'm worried that that isn't the right thing to do. Please advise.

If you don't see green tonight, I would raise the dose tomorrow. Provided that you think he'll eat if you need him to. It could be the tooth is causing some inflammation or pain that is raising the numbers. But you don't want him to stay in higher numbers and get glucose toxicity. You may have to reduce the dose after the dental, but he'll let you know if that's the case.

Thanks Wendy and Carla. :) Radar's pmps was lower tonight than it has been lately and I just tested at +1 and it's basically the same... I suspect that he may show some nicer numbers as the cycle progresses... he's done this sort of thing before.
