Hey, just thought I'd pass along that Joseph has officially completed his OTJ trial. We stopped injections on the advice of the vet on Feb 14 and he has been staying green and stable.

Seems stupid and unreal that he went from diagnosis to remission in 6 weeks... I honestly don't get how that can even be possible. Maybe we caught it with a lucky diagnosis immediately and combined that with an immediate switch to low carb allowed him just to restart his pancreas.

Even though I didn't post much on here, there is no way we would have been able to treat him so quickly and expertly without your solid advice and support.

That's great news! Are you still testing periodically? We call a cat in remission when they have gone two weeks in normal numbers without insulin. The spreadsheet only shows a few days after his last shot.

Getting rid of high carb dry food with insulin support early can indeed provide early good results.
 
We have been testing every day or two but I got lazy and stopped recording the numbers

We haven't shot insulin since Feb 14 and with the exception of one 106 test on Feb 19 he has been completely green with his numbers.

Now that he is through the two weeks OJT trial we will check his levels every week or so as a way to catch if for some reason he falls off the wagon and starts climbing again.
