So, last night, Johnny hit 39 at +3, so we took that as a sign he was ready to try things on his own (no insulin).

Johnny hasn't been bouncing much lately from his low numbers, so I feel like this 134 is not a bounce, it's a true number. That's where my question comes in, I'm wondering if we should take a "shoot numbers over 120" (or whatever the dosers think) approach and see where that goes. If others think we should give him more time, we can certainly try.

Note: We leave for vacation next Thursday. The kitties are staying with our good friends who have watched them many times. My friend is comfortable shooting and testing, as she has done it for us before. We'll be in close touch and I'll have internet access.

i don't know, but i looked at johnny's spreadsheet and it sure looks like he's got a nice run of mostly greens going.

holiday weekend, i don't know if people will be around to get you an answer in time.

hmm, I can see why you're asking. I think I would give him one more cycle without shooting to see if he can pull this down on his own. Try feeding a small meal and test again in 3-4 hours. I know you usually free feed, but if you can try to pick the food up for a few hours that might help us see if his pancreas is working.

bump was late...

bring it down on your own Johnny!!! We're rooting for you!

Thanks Libby. Will do. His first meal portion was fish and shrimp - zero carb - so I gave him a little 2-3%. Will keep the food up and post in a few hours.

Celia, I showed Johnny the pic. He was wide eyed! Thanks, Julie and Lisa. :)

I should have never taught him to read, Sienne.

He's 92 two hours later, so Mr. P is working. We tested early, because he was sitting up where his bowl should be and staring at us. lol

We gave him the snack he desired!
