I checked his BG at 4:15 and it was 444. 2 weeks ago it was 217. Have noticed this weekend he's been peeing more, drinking more, somewhat lethargic but not totally. I saved his Lantus and it's been in the fridge ever since. The box says discard 11/2017. The actual bottle says discard 2018. Dosage was 1 1/2 units. Do I give him Lantus tonight or wait till his vet can call me back tomorrow? He is eating.
Any advice appreciated

I'm a newbie sort of, my 2 cents is if your not prepared to start and continue I wouldn't start tonite. Wait for consult with vet. I might question an open vial of Lantus and if you do go back on the juice get new. It lasts a long tyme but it's been open and sitting for 1 year. One or two nights won't make a big diff in starting insulin. Titan ran 500+ for weeks. Good luck, hopefully some more experienced folks will chime in.

Thank you that is good advice

I agree....I think you're better off to start with fresh so there's absolutely no question on it's strength

Sorry to see you back, but welcome back to the family!!

It’s best to check in with your vet and get a new prescription. See if you can get pens as it will save you money in the long run.
