Without much preface, I'm going to make this short:

I work as a sever/manager at a restaurant which comes with lots of "doubles" and "closes" on weekend nights. My optimal AM/PM PS are 12:00 or 00:00 (I use a 24-hr clock as to not confuse myself)

So is my only option to skip the shoot in the morning let's say if I close the restaurant and make it home by 1:30 AM to just turn around and open the restaurant at 10:30?!

Should I change my schedule completely? Literally willing to do anything for my kitty.

Are you close enough to nip home at test times?

It would be a 20-30 min round trip, so no. I have the keys to the restaurant, and can't leave and come back.
I'm in same situation being two hours away. I hear you. I do the best I can and sometimes shots are an hour or two late; sometimes early. With only one person testing and shooting I do the best I can as I'm sure you do.

Yes, I definitely try my best. And our kitties are lucky to have us! I had sort of "given up" and conceited to his levels being high and being on such a high dose. So I basically stopped checking his BG twice a day. Then I realized that it's not impossible to try harder. So today has been a week since I changed his diet, and his reading just now was 122 on only 0.5U - it's incredible! Just his diet alone has effected so much of our quality of life. I think my next step is to speak with my higher ups and explain to them that I just cannot close and then open. Or I can change my availability to only nights. They are aware of my situation so I hope they will be understanding, after all, he is my kid!

Wow! What an amazing difference the food switch and a reduced dose has made! Well done figuring out to try something different when what you were doing before wasn’t working. So tricky with your work schedule. It’s not that Lantus can’t be dosed at uneven times, it’s just that it works a lot better and more predictably when you do. I like the title of your SS! ;)

What if you can go for something in between, cut back to only evening shifts for say a a few weeks or a month to really buckle down and try for a second remission with consistent shot times and then go from there depending on what he does. It might not interfere with your work schedule for very long at all. :)

What a remarkable change!

If you haven't taken a look, there's a sticky at the top of the board on how to use Tight Regulation if you work full time. Some of the suggestions there may be helpful given your schedule.
