Welcome Banjo and Jessica.
We were all thrown off our feet when first getting the diabetes and all brand new and perplexed. So that is just normal.
How old is Banjo?
For how long has he had diabetes?
What insulin are you using?
Have the vets instructed you how to home test with a bloodglucose meter?

There are volumes of information here. Frankly, it's more than a bit overwhelming at first.
The best place to get started is over on the Health board, which I linked. The people there will likely have lots of questions -- what insulin are you using, what are you feeding Banjo, how did you find out that Banjo was diabetic, are there any other health problems, are you home testing, etc.
And likewise, please let us know if you have questions. We're here to help.
