I'm very sorry, Sheila. The benefit that I see is that you caught it very early. Everything I read mentioned prognosis is so diminished because it's often caught too late.
Adenocarcinoma is apparently a "family" of cancer, which can strike different parts of the body. Gandalf would have had an intestinal one and I'm not surprised to have read that it spreads quickly. I could not really find anything specific about oral adenos, although "oral" was listed among the different locations.
I couldn't find anything on whether radiation or chemo is more effective. I understand radiation may not be possible because of the location.
