Jeddie - sleeping in the litter box?

I found him lying down in the litter box this morning - about an hour after his shot and turkey. He looked comfortable - kinda like it was a nice cool and secure place to be, but it was the LB nonetheless. What's that about? He's never done this before.

I got him out, brushed off the litter and he got on my bed for a while and is now under a chair in my bedroom.

Last night I got up at 3:30 to feed him and he got on the bed after that for the rest of the night, first time in over a week I think. This morning I brushed him after I got up and he purred.

Pumbaa has taken to hiding out in the litter box at night when he's knows I'm going to test him! He makes me chase him around the dining room table, then he takes off like a silver bullet, runs to the covered litter box, and I hear the scritch/scritch and know he's doing his duty...but after about 5 minutes, I no longer hear any sounds (I'm standing there the entire time), and I pop the lid off and he's laying down in the litter, praying that I'm just going to go away and not poke him anymore.

I used to have a cat that would lay in the litter box when she got mad at me!
She would get mad..stamp her feet and go straight to the litter box and lay there
until I came to look for her, once I saw her she would roll and roll around until she was full of litter!
YUK!! she smelled bad!

When someone wants to sit down in a *dirty* litter box that is not usually a good sign. :-|

Everyone always seems to want to roll around, dig feverishly and/or curl up in a *fresh* box of clay. :-D

Chip is the only one who still gets clay. He gets clay for #2 and his own breeze for #1. :thumbup

The others use breeze for everything... soon to be SMART CAT BOX ™ as soon as I can get one or more of those.

Well, he was relatively normal the rest of the day. He has been finding a new spot every day. Some of them are very "old" spots he hasn't used in a while (by used, I mean sleep there). It's like he is confused or something. Or wants to hide. The LB was relatively clean, only one pee ball in it since the last time I scooped it, but it isn't a place I would want to hang out in.

He did come into the kitchen when I was getting everyone's food ready this evening. He hasn't done that for a while. He didn't eat very much, but he did eat. I'm at the stage where I am opening a couple of cans of food to get him to eat something. He didn't want what I had given him, and he ate, at 3 in the afternoon, so Beau got that and I opened a new can for Jeddie. He did eat his plate of turkey after his test though.

Then he hung out in the living room the rest of the evening and got on the sofa and ended up belly-up by the 10 o'clock news.

Not sure what his BG is doing. Last night he was in the 300s and tonight he was 163. (SS not up to date).

Sheila, I always worry about Pumbaa when he goes and finds a place to hide in, instead of being in one of his normal "safe" places.

Under my bed is an "I don't feel good, leave me alone" hiding spot.

In the litter box is an "I'll teach her that I'm not happy about getting poked" spot.

I hope Jeddie feels much better soon and stops hiding out. (((HUGS)))
