Thank you all so much -- even if I'm not on the board for months at a time, it's like coming home to family here.
Thank you, CIndy, for doing that -- yes, her bg shot up from 480 at home to 600+ at the vet, and her T4 was high, so we'll adjust the thyroid medicine, prob switch to oral rather than transdermal.
SHe was down to 5 pounds from her normal 7, and very dehydrated. She's on lactated ringers, short-acting insulin every four hours till she gets down into the 200s and is properly hydrated again. She'd had one dose of insulin and about a third of a bag of fluid when I kissed her goodnight, and she looked so much better already -- and for the first time today, was chowing down on some supper.
She'll have to be there at least till Sunday afternoon, but she's in the most excellent hands.
You all are my safety net, and I am grateful for every one of you. Thank you for being there for us...again.
