Hey everyone, I wanted to say thank you for the congratulations to Jupiter for quite a few days without insulin. I really appreciate it.
We were waiting to do an OTJ trial until the surgery was done, he was feeling better, and eating better.
The timeline of when he stopped needing insulin is around the time I noticed the bump getting much larger... so I guess I am worried the bump caused his appy decrease and that resulted in him not needing the insulin. Once his appy picks up I worry he may need to go back on insulin.
So we have been holding off on declaring a trial, since he hasn’t been eating enough (I think due to the pain in his foot) so I don’t want to get my hopes up yet that he is truly in remission until hes eating normally again.
I had discussed an OTJ trial for Jupiter with some more experienced members, and we all agreed that it should wait until hes eating better and feeling better so we can determine if these low numbers are from lack of eating… or… if hes in remission and the low numbers just coincidently came around the same time as this issue with his foot.
As he recovers and heals from surgery, and starts eating normally again…. I really hope his BG will stay low - but I would prefer to wait a bit longer to say hes officially “OTJ"
Once again, thank you all for the congratulations and support
