Hi there,

I have not been here for quite some time and many here may not know or remember Jake or myself. Jake had diabetes about 10 years ago and we received so much support and advice from the FDMB. We will be forever grateful for that. I just wanted to let you know that Jake joined his furry brothers, Cool and Hunter, today. He survived diabetes and lived to 22+ years. I know how hard it is to be grappling with feline diabetes, but wanted everyone to know that miracles happen everyday and we should never give up. If you have an extra candle available, please light it tonight to help guide my sweet Prince as he crosses rainbow bridge.

Much love and well wishes to all,
Deb

I'm so sorry for you loss. Thank you for sharing Jake's story of a good long life. Wishing you comfort and peace.

Thank you so much for your support. This message board was my lifeline while Jake had diabetes and I just knew that it would be the right place to turn today, after saying goodbye to my sweet prince.

I'm so sorry for your loss but celebrate your many good years together. You must have been doing something right. God bless you and God bless your sweet Prince Jake. They are never here long enough because we have so much love to share.

Sharing your tears,
jeanne

Deb - What a good, long life your Jake had with you!!! My Nigel (age 16 yrs) was recently diagnosed with diabetes and how your post has encouraged me-- while at the same time filled my eyes with tears over your loss. I am deeply saddened for the sorrow you now have to greet your days without him. Thinking of you. Lorraine

((((hugs)))) I am very sorry for your loss. That is amazing that he did so well even with diabetes and lived to a grand old age. I hope your memories and knowing you gave him a great life will bring you peace and comfort as you mourn his passing.

My heartfelt sympathy on the loss of Jake but what a wonderful and long life you shared together. No matter the years given it is always so hard when they leave us and my heart goes out to you.

I am so sorry about your Jake. But what a wonderful and long life he had. May you hold onto to those many memories.

Deb, so sorry for your loss. 10 years with diabetes and living to 22 is a real feat. Amidst your tears, Deb, remember how good a mom you were.

Fly free on Angel wings, Jake!

((( Deb )))

You obviously gave Jake amazing care -- 22 years (and 10 w/ FD !) But it's never long enough, is it.
I'm sorry for all the pain you must feel . The high cost of such love.

Safe Journey sweet Jake wings_cat

Jake's story is an inspiration to newbies and those who are struggling to deal w/ FD. Thank you for returning to the board to share with us.

with sympathy,
