Looking like that most recent reduction might fail. On the other hand, maybe this is a good petsitter dose right now.
Amps 240, +10 204.

I’m only going away Friday night post shot. The sitter will do Saturday and Sunday morning shots.

Should I get a curve before I go?

Also, how do you tell the petsitter how much to feed with the evolving appetite of a diabetic cat?

Will the petsitter be testing? A curve before you go is a good idea.

I fed a set amount each day. Getting the pet sitter to leave out a little extra food in case he goes low would be fine.

I find myself totally stymied about limiting Jackson’s food, or even setting an amount. When he’s hungry, he’s frantic, and his hunger seems closely tied to blood sugar, so it changes all the time. I end up just giving him spoonfuls every couple hours I’m home. I’m trying to use a timed feeder, but who knows if Jackson is eating it or the other cats.

If you do a curve, that will help you decide how low he's going on this dose. You've seen some mid blues on this dose. Getting PM tests before bed will also let you know if he's sneaking in some lower numbers at night.

Do you think Jackson will eat when the petsitter is around? That can also be a factor in dosing.

He’s a champion eater, so I can’t imagine he’ll stop eating. He is friendly with new people, so I think he’ll eat fine. I agree that I should get a curve. I just changed to this dose a few days ago so I like to wait until it’s had a chance to kick in.

Everybody (Jack and two civvies) has been starving today as I try to standardize their feeding. I guess they eat more than I thought, but that would be more than three cans a day for Jackson, which seems insane. The other two probably poach some of his food, though.
