All that is left now is PMPS. I know, my timing is off, but would anyone care to weigh in?
Even though he's been there for a month now?You want to keep the dose the same for at least 3 days unless Jackie goes below 68 AT or 50 human glucometer.
Okay, got it. He seems to be walking on, like, his tiptoes(sorta) on his rear end. Is that what is meant when folks say his hocks? With green yesterday morning, I'd hold the dose. On an AT that was just above the # that would've caused a reduction, so I don't think that he needs a dose increase right now. Lantus & Levemir's dosing are both based upon how LOW the dose takes the cat - not the high numbers. Today's higher numbers are caused by the green numbers yesterday morning - they don't mean that he needs more insulin at this point. He's probably had a few more green cycles that you haven't caught.
If you can, try to get a test before you go to bed every night. Many, many cats have lower numbers in the pm cycle and getting a test right before you go to bed can really help when it comes to making decisions about the dose.
