Got a bit of a higher reading again this morning for AMPS...430.

But the darn autofeeder stuck AGAIN last night!! I'm so frustrated with that thing! It worked fine during the day yesterday, and it is not overfilled so it's not getting stuck on food. I will have to bring it back for a new one this weekend. Jack did wake me though about 3:30am and came into bed looking for love and petting...and food of course. So i got up and "unstuck" it for him. Now he's all fed and happy, napping in the sun in the window. Caught him in the litter box, maybe a trace of ketones in the urine but not a big color change.

Will stick with .8 units for now.

A trace of ketones is not insignificant. Probably should check with your vet. I used to find it very difficult to tell until someone suggested that I hold the testing strip next to an unused one to see if there was really a difference. I found that really make a difference.

I agree with Judy. Be careful with ketones.

You had said it might be the label on the feeder? Can you just take it off? And keep, so you can take it back?

When I test for ketones, I always take an additional strip and run under water for a controlled comparison. I have found it helps me with the reading,

Just a thought!

Not too bad today, 352 @ PMPS. He didn't eat as much during the day. The auto feeder went off fine today but he didn't eat much from it. Ate when I got home and put food from the feeder in another dish! All 3 of the cats seemed kind of afraid of it today for some reason according to my daughter. As far as the feeder, it was getting stuck on the label at first, but I did fix that. Not sure what happened with it last night. I rechecked everything, changed batteries, etc.

i will definitely talk to the vet about the ketones on Saturday. But good thing is he seems to be more active and feeling better than he has in quite a while. Cuddling with Tucker again too. :-)

I'd keep on putting some food in it. They should get used to it. You might put a dab in each slot with the lid up. Then they can see all the food and maybe be interested when it turns. Hope so.

The label on our pet safe feeder is peeling around the edges too. I have to tape it before we have sticking probs I guess.
They must have gotten a bad batch of adhesive on these feeder labels!

Do you have any problems with your feeder getting stuck at all Donna? I would recommend taping that label too...right when I took it out of the box it was already coming off!

It worked fine overnight last night...I hope it's gotten over it's issues. :-)
