Well tomorrow it will be a week since Milo passed. It is hard to believe. In that time I've received some special things. My vet sent a beautiful flower arrangement with a special card. That arrived Friday and of course the tears flowed. Saturday I arrived home after spending the day at Purdue with my oldest son. In the mail from the Purdue vet hospital where Milo passed was a plaque. They had pressed his paws into it and put his name on it. There were more tears then. Yesterday a friend sent a card and poem so more tears. It is getting easier to remember all the love Milo brought to us. I know he is free and watching over us.

Attached I hope is a picture of our new addition Allie. I know to some it might seem soon, she is not a replacement she is a new baby to love. She is 8 months and full of energy. There are reminders of Milo in some of her behavior. She seems to love his favorite spots. We knew she was the right one when we took her out of her cage. She purred, put her paws around our necks and gave kisses.

You have all been wonderful and I wish you all the best in healing your babies. Of course Allie was on dry and we are transitioning to a list approved canned food. She doesn't seem to picky at all.

Meredith

She's so cute. I hope she helps bring smiles to your face. That was great of the hopsital to send you the plaque. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

There is no way a new kitten is a "replacement." Milo has a special place in your heart. This new kitty is finding a new place to put her pawprints.

There are times when Gabby does things that remind me of Gracie, a civvie that I had for 8 years when she suddenly died. I suspect these kitties have a deep understanding of our needs and find very special ways to express themselves. Congrats on the new addition to your family.

Meredith, What a lovely tribute to Milo that you now have a new kitten to love and I'm sure she has the paws approval of sweet Milo watching. Wishing you lots of happy healthy years with Allie, such a gorgeous little girl.

Meredith, we shared your sorrow at Milo's crossing, and now we share your joy at your new addition. I absolutely agree that Milo orchestrated this. He knew all the love you have to give and didn't want it to go to waste, so he led you to a baby that needed a loving home. What a special gift. We wish you a long, healthy and happy life with your new kitty. :):bighug:

Meredith, as others have said, Milo knows what a wonderful kitty Mama you are and sent you this new little sweetie to love. Allie is so cute and no doubt full of beans, I have an eight-month old of my own and she keep me on my toes. Precious Milo will never be replaced, he has a special place in your heart forever. And bless these lovely people who sent you the tributes to Milo -- they all knew what a special boy he was, and the special angel he is now.

Hugs:bighug:

Aw, everything about your post is just heart warming and brings a tear to my eye. How special, -- all of it! Best wishes for your family and Allie ... she's precious.

Meredith, thank you for your update. Your vets sounds like wonderful people. :bighug:

I am so happy you found pretty Allie, with Milo's help of course. She's a lucky kitty.

:bighug: Remembering Milo with a smile.

i love the rings on her tail - and such a smart girl to park in the sunshine!!! Welcome to the FDMB family, little Allie. You scored a good home.

Allie is beautiful and she's such a smart kitty to have picked you! She couldn't have picked a better momma! Hugs to you and thinking of you!

Milo must have known that you had SO much love to give and pointed you in Allie's direction. Allie will never be a replacement for Milo, rather a reminder that love needs to be shared to be special. You are carrying on your special gift of loving and caring and that in its way is a special tribute to Milo. May the silliness of a young Allie kitten give you some comfort. Just remember Milo is looking down and smiling.
