She's doing well! Thanks for asking after her
At first she had the hardest time figuring out how to walk in the bandage and cone. I took the cone off and she struggled with the bandage alone for a bit, but started getting the hang of it. I felt horrible for her when she had to use the litter box - getting around was exhausting. She rested in front of the door, in the litter box before going, and halfway out of the litter box getting out. I so badly wanted to help her, but she got grumpy when I intervened. Eventually she got it, though.
I had to put the cone back on overnight, since I couldn't watch her, and I slept next to her. She didn't move an inch the entire night. Every time she would try to get up, she'd step on the edges of the cone and knock herself back down. So she just gave up.
So in the morning I took the cone off again (I work from home, so could watch her all morning). Even though she still struggles to get around some, she still sought out the sunbeams
I had to put the cone on to go out for a few hours this afternoon, and when I got home she still had it on, was up and about, and came to the door to greet me!
She also has had a healthy appetite since she got home. I've had to take food away from her a few times so she wouldn't gorge on it (I was warned in my discharge instructions that eating too much could make her feel sick).
It's so nice to see her doing well.
