An update on our Grey Cat from the Good While It Lasted post (Sept. 2022) . . .

It's been about 216 days into the grey cat's recurrence, and we managed to get his BG numbers under control (highs in the 100s) by about Day 130. We peaked at a high dose of 7.5U in December (!!), when he was regularly blowing out the meter (600+), but we've been at roughly 3-4U with no >100 numbers in the last 50 days. Last night, he decided to have a little hypo incident on a 2U dose, so we're trying 1.5U on for size. Not sure if that will stick or if we're somewhere between 1.5-2U at this point. He's still getting sub-Q fluids ~2x a week, but the need seems reduced now that his BG numbers are lower. His weight seems stable, and he's still doing all the normal happy kitty things. ‍♀️

Treating feline diabetes, if you catch it early, can apparently be a marathon NOT a sprint!!

Oh yeah, still on the same food regimen. We're definitely fans of Young Again.
