Hi,

I'm awake. I'm in Belgium, so it's 10am here already. I'm quite new to all this, so I am not much good in the advice department, but my Suzie has had those sort of scary high numbers and toughed her way through it.

I'm assuming Jane eats when she has lower values, so even if she does not feel so well during the high ones, she has strength to get through it. I have also learned to be careful about giving shots with Lantus between the 12 hour shots as it is has a delayed reaction, and I wouldn't do it without advice from someone very experienced. You are doing the right thing.

Sorry I cannot be of much help, but I thought I'd pipe up and offer moral support since I happen to be awake when much of the board is sleeping. I'm sure that as soon as someone knowledgeable about doses wakes up, they'll give you some good advice.

Hang in there !

Maria & Suzie

Morning :?

Sorry, I'm new to this and Lantus. All though I know I under shot a dose the other day (newbie) and the vet said that I should wait until her normal time to shoot
just because lantus is a long acting insulin. Bummer its morning here too. Just new to this testing at all hours  sending lots of ((((((((jane)))))))) your way.
Hang in there!

i know it is worrisome and frustrating to see them at high numbers before you can shoot, but it looks like a big rebound from earlier that should clear up as the excess hormones go out of her system (liver overreacted to the drop from the 500s to the 60s).
normally i'd say you could shoot 2 hrs earlier in a big rebound situation but because she can drop quite a bit even from the 500s it would be better to be conservative. fluids around +6 would help lower the numbers a bit and ease things for her.
hoping rebound has cleared and she has a nice easy day today.

Hang in there. looks like she has come down fractionally at +7. Those are scary numbers for peak. I'm not qualified to give you any dosing advise, but everything that I have seen says to only shoot every 12 hours. Hope someone with more experience comes along soon.

have no clue unless rebound again. might have to start making sure she eats at +1 and +2 to try and slow the drop. she is as bad as wheezer. good luck kris. see ya around noon or so

Good morning.
I think you are seeing the rebound from the 67 yesterday as it was a pretty steep drop.
I know how hard it is seeing such a high number in the middle of the cycle. It is not advised to shoot early in the cycle.

Darn, I didn't see this condo -- I posted in the other one.
Could you put dates in your headings? Then I'd know which is the most current.
