Issues with older cats and diabetes

Hello I have. Kitty that was diagnosed with diabetes a little over a year ago. I have tried different foods along with insulin injections. The problem is she is now not the best eater and so it’s difficult be consistent with insulin. I notice a lot of drinking and then it causes issues with diarrhea. What’s the best insulin for a cat and least side affects?
 
Are you using Lantus insulin right now? I ask because this is the Lantus forum. If you use a different insulin like Novolin, Vetsulin or ProZinc you can post on those forums or on the main health forum.

OK. I suggest you go post on the main health forum and give us the following information:
  • date of her diagnosis
  • her age
  • insulin you use
  • whether you test her blood glucose at home and, if so, what meter you use
  • what you feed her
  • any other health issues/meds she has.

I don’t know where to find main Health forum.
She is 13.5 years of age
Diagnosis was January 2017
Novolin N
I test her twice a day after she eats
She eats science diet M/D
No other health issues or meds

You will get more input over there because this forum is all people who use Lantus and Levemir insulin (so we'd all likely agree these are the best insulins). :cat:
