Isis was just diagnosed last week. She is on 3 U ProZinc. My biggest problem is that I need a place to get syringes. The ones the vet has have a 1/2" needle, and I was going straight through the skin. Today, they shaved her neck to make it easier, and I did OK tonight. Can anyone tell me where the best place to order syringes might be? Her BG was 433 today. I am hoping that as I give the insulin correctly, the numbers will go down. Vet wants to do a fructomine (I know I spelled that wrong) in a couple of weeks. She is eating well and seems comfortable. Also, I'll need a new meter. Any suggestions on the best one? Thanks. None of the pharmacies carry U 40. I went straight to Walmart, and I couldn't believe they stopped carrying them. I will try the online sites, thank you.

If your insulin calls for U40 syringes (red cap)you can use the U100 (orange cap) syringes instead and do a conversion. Here is a link to the conversion chart:
