Hidey is still off insulin. He has been off insulin since March 18th, but the past few days we've been teetering on higher numbers. Once his numbers seemed to be going up I've been trying very hard to keep him on the much lower carb wet foods. I have also been cutting out most of his seafood varieties since that is the recommendation because of mercury. Lately he has been getting a lot of the chicken varieties from Tiki (mainly 0% carbs) His numbers went higher. I started to give him some seafood varieties (also 0%) and his numbers are dropping again. At first I was thinking it was the 0% because I have read some posts that some cats dont react good on the 0% and do better with some carbs but he did fine on the seafood 0%. Is this just a coincidence????
How do you tell if his mercury is too high, heck he's mainly had seafood varieties since he was a kitten.
Also, Ive noticed that when he is in the blues he is EXTREMELY hungry. Yellows and greens he's fine but blues and he's looking for more.
