Where did you find the information you posted?

I don't see a spreadsheet for Mel, but do see that you are using the ReliOn Prime meter.
Would you set up the spreadsheet and plug in the data you have so we can see how Mel is doing?

'Normal' with an AlphaTrak2 is about 75 to 150, so I consider it excellent regulation if my cat stays in that range. (With a human meter, I think they say it is about 50 to 120.) The renal threshold (over-simplified, it is the point when glucose begins being excreted into the urine thus impacting the kidneys and more) is approximately 250 on an AlphaTrak2 (so lower with human meter), and I definitely don't want to see her around/over that.

I’m working on getting the spreadsheet started. I began testing and his numbers have never been below 300 (not once) The fact that he began treatment June 1st and we are now into September has me wondering about his initial dosing. He was given 1 unit twice daily on June 1st. He had zero signs of neuropathy at that time. Two weeks from diagnosis, the vet wasn’t satisfied with his numbers, so she increased the dose from 1 to 2. Is it possible that we may have missed the ideal dose? His neuropathy is to the point where he’s on his hocks. Could he have been bouncing this whole time?!

Increasing in 1 unit increments is not recommended. 1/4 unit increases are better so that you don't zoom past the needed dose. However, without seeing your test results on a spreadsheet, we cannot really give you any input. There are a lot of nuances to this. Has he ever gone too low? Most often, if the dose is too high, you will see them go too low at some point even if they then 'bounce' up into higher numbers. If you could get the spreadsheet set up, it would help us help you.
