Is there a chance of injecting into the microchip?

What would happen if I injected into the Petfinder microchip or would the needle just not go into it? I know it is somewhere in the scruff and sooner or later the needle will hit it I would think. Anyone else wonder about this? Lately I have been shooting in the flank more often than the scruff to lessen the chance of this but I am probably worrying about nothing.

I don't think the needle would go into it, plus when you make the tent for the shot you might feel it. I think I recently found my boy's microchip (kind of pointless because no scanner can read it >_>).

Couldn't remember if it was glass or some type of plastic. Just know it's relatively clear

Great question! Microships are really small - the size of a grain of rice. They are not attached to the body, they kind of float under the skin. I think if you hit it it would just move a little.
