Hey everyone,

I think we are getting close to an OTJ trial for Mark and I'm getting nervous! At his check up on 10/6, the vet advised that if Mark's numbers stayed within the range they'd been for the previous month, we should try taking him off insulin. He's been on 0.1u since the beginning of September.

We missed a shot a few days ago and he got a fur shot yesterday morning. Last night, his PMPS was 75 so DH decided not to shoot.

So, is this just as simple as not giving him a shot and keep testing as usual?

So is your .10 a drop dose or more? Since you only test at preshot it’s impossible to know how low this dose is taking him and with AT some of those numbers would be green. We like to see mostly green for a strong remission. Any chance of getting a test 3 hours after eating?

For my Maxie I am aiming for 72-135 as a target goal during the day using the AT2 meter. I was taking monthly glucose readings before she became diabetic (her brother had already been diagnosed a year earlier) so I have a good handle on what ranges were normal for her pre FD. Of course every kitty is different, but this is just an example of where Maxie was pre-diabetes.

Getting some mid cycle tests or a cycle curve might be useful to show how high the numbers go after eating and how quickly they come down. Looking good thought!!
