Is it ok not to test for a couple of days

Good morning! My husband and I have to travel to the big city for a couple of days. My boy is pretty high still but, stable. My sister is looking after him for us but, she is not comfortable testing him as of yet. Is it ok for her to just give him his insulin without testing? His spreadsheet and signature is up to date TYIA!

You never know if the depot is full, and he's dropping. I'd not recommend it at all...

I'll second that. It will be easier to deal with high numbers when you get back than a hypo while you're gone. Sorry, I wish there was an easier way.

Change the title of your thread to: Need help. Vacation dose.

Usually a vacation dose is a small reduction but I'm not sure how much in Winston's case.

It would be easier to make suggestions if you had a bit more test data. It's just as important to get at least one PM test. Many cats experience lower numbers at night. In addition, without the PM information, you're missing half of your data.

Providing Winston has no history of ketones, you could reduce to 0.25u. If he has a history of ketones, that would make this even more challenging.
