    Hello!

Does anyone know if Florastor is safe for cats? This probiotic has been used for people for some 50 years. Has anyone here used it for cats? My neighbor handed me a bottle today because it will expire before she can use it up. Quite pricy at $47.27 for 50 capsules of 250mg each! I recall that my mom had used it for "intestinal disturbances." Can one sprinkle it on kitty food? Mix it in? Or is it only for people? Thanks!

I did a web search on it and found the Florastor web site FAQs

"Florastor is unique because it is a single-strain, friendly, yeast-based probiotic- Saccharomyces boulardii lyo."

You'd need to check with a vet if this is a probiotic normally found in a cat. I'm not familiar with it.

Hello and thank you, BJ. I have checked with my vet who said Floorastor was OK for cats. However, since my trust in vets right now is very low, I will use it myself but not feed it to my sweet Pudge!
