Is a treat right before testing okay?

Normally I wait for Sid to be finished with testing to reward with a treat.

I notice today he started running away before testing. :-/ I've poked him a bit more to try and get mid-cycle readings, and normally he is very patient. Would a treat (pure bites freeze dried chicken) before be okay? As well as after?

I want him to feel happy about treats and testing.

I use freeze dried chicken treats while testing and Freckles is much more complacent about getting poked.

Yes it would be fine to give a before and after treat as long as it’s low carb. I found if I gave Sheba the treat while I was testing she ate it as I did the test and didn’t even notice I was testing. Find something he loves to give home while you do it.
