Or as we call her when she is giving an attitude...miss thang. :-D She was dx on 12/4/13 necause we was DKA. Scared the heck out of me but she is doing much better. Thanks to this board all my cats are now on friskies classic pates or special diet and 9 lives. Was a bit of a rough road getting her numbers to ever show lower but we are getting there. She takes 1 unit of prozinc bid. In the two weeks back from the vet she has gone from laying around looking like we could loose her to running down the hall and bossing around her brothers again. Looking forward to getting to know all of you and your babies.

Welcome To The PZI (ProZinc) Forum! cat_pet_icon

My sugarcat is Rumpleteazer.
Her ss is in my signature if you would like to browse around....but don't try dosing Patches like I do...You will need a lot of data first to see how insulin/food/etc affect her numbers.
You can see her ups & downs since she was diagnosed in February. RumpelT is now getting very low doses and/or no insulin at all now. Sue is a big help with the sugar-dance thing. :-D

You are already home testing and feeding lo-carb food which is great. Sorry you had a couple "shot" set-backs the past few days...thngs will get back on track.
It Does Get Easier.

I'm glad you made it over here! Check out other people's spreadsheets (although each cat is different and the dosing is adjusted for each cat. But they can show you how people adjusted dosing based on their unique data) As I said, it's a small forum, so if you ever have an emergency, post in Health. But it's a great place for people in the same sugar dance to cheer you and Patches on.

Looking forward to today's amps after your snafu yesterday. Hope she has settled back into the dose, which seemed to be working well.

Misty awww what a cute kitty she looks just like my furbaby that we lost in November. I love the tan stripped ones they always seem to be so sweet and loving. Sue has been very helpful and I am so grateful for this forum the vet hasn't been very helpful at all its a hit and miss if you even get a return phone call. Heck she even said if I can't afford her prescription stuff it was ok to keep feeding Patches special kitty dry! :o

Sue thanks for recommending I come over here!!! I am still new with the spreadsheets but nice to see how other kitty's numbers are and the large number that are otj is very encouraging and gives me hope.

Hello! Just wanted to welcome you and say this Board is definitely a life saver!

My PJ was diabetic back in 2008 but for only 8 months - I don't think she (or I) would have survived w/o all these wonderful people. She was recently re-diagnosed Nov 4th so I'm back and still getting wonderful advise. Thankfully PJ has responded very well to Prozinc and we have her down and hopefully will keep going down.

Hang in there!

nice to meet you Paula and Pj. I am really hoping she will go OTJ at some point. If not well then I guess I will get really really good at giving shots. lol

Welcome to PZI! This forum has super helpful people like Sue and BJ. They've been awesomely helpful with my girl. Looking forward to getting to know you both!

Hi, and welcome. Cassie and I have been here a while. I don't post much, because I'm usually on my phone and because Cass reacts differently than most other kitties. I do read all the posts, though, even if I'm lurking, and I definitely want to welcome you.

Hi, my sugar baby is Tommy and we have been a part of this since mid Oct. Tommy is still in the process to regulate him into the 200's. I work all sorts of odd times (I don't post as often) so we aren't going for anything in tighter control. My DH won't test so it is all up to me. Tommy is very personable and has been such a good boy as I learned all this. These people and the forum in general have been life savers for Tommy!! Welcome aboard!

Welcome.

I've got 1 diabetic, Gracie, at the moment who is a recent acquisition (that'll teach me to wake up fully and read carefully before agreeing to anything ;-) )
I had another one, Spitzer, a few years back who was on Lantus, never regulated, and had other problems too.
