Insulins are delicate and can be damaged..sooo

How do you think they make it all the way to the U.S. from Canada undamaged? I doubt delivery people handle it with care because they wouldn't know.

I ask because I see people who use it handle it with care being concerned not to shake it too hard.

Just wondering because I saw the goof at the pharmacy handling theirs rough enough to make me cringe.

that is an excellent question. I know mine came air freight from texas to SC. Yes, it was packaged well, in styrofoam, with an icepack and bubblewrap. But just the vibration from being in a plane would have shook it up more than any time I ever touched the vial. Maybe it's just after it is opened that is important? I know I used to manage a shipping department, and in general, people there didn't handle things marked "fragile" as if they really were fragile. I've seen overnight delivery people toss boxes like they are footballs, never reading any notes that might be on the boxes. Makes you wonder how the insulin survives the trip...

Thanks for confirming that point. I'll try and call an insulin mfg. and see what they say.
Their reply might clear a few questions.

And a goofball at my pharmacy mishandled my Lantus. After a series of wonky numbers, I called the pharmacy and they replaced 4 pens due to the clerks' slamming the box on the counter.
