Just wanted to share that I finally found something to protect Fluffy's Lantus vials. I have dropped 2 in the past few years for a loss of almost $400 :(. I know I am not the only one this has happened to so hopefully I can help save others from this hassle and expense. Hope this helps! www.vialsafe.com.

Hmm...what's a crutch tip? The product I was talking about is only $10. 99 and seems like it will last forever. It's see thru so I can see which medication is in it, how much is left, and can still get the needle in the top with the protector in place. Added bonus, my 5 year old daughter is having fun bouncing it on the floor. LOL

Perfect! I'm always scared I'm going to drop the bottle on the granite counter, that would surely shatter it. I'm going to order one of these asap! Thanks for sharing!

Can you put the cartridge into pens?

I don't think so, but I know Marks isn't listing the cartridges on their website anymore so it's either pens or vials.

The pens are the best buy anyway....Not only do they have the extra plastic to protect them, you can use every drop since each pen only holds 300 units (unless the cat is a high dose cat, you end up throwing away a lot of insulin from a vial)

On the meantime you can just wrap some thick rubber bands in it.

Why would you want to? Pens only shoot in one unit increments. We tell people that purchase pens to remove the needle portion.
For the protection of the pen devise/case. Again I have no idea what they look like. I was thinking that the cartridges were used in the pens. If that was the case I was going to ask my neighbor for an old pen (case) to put the cartridges in for protection.

I went ahead and just ordered the vial safe - super excited for it to arrive! Thanks again @smin123 for posting this! I was always so scared that the bottle would break!
