Hi - Just noticed on our bottle of Vetsulin that it states to replace 45 days after it has been opened. Our vet didn't mention this to us and it's not on the label they put on the box. We started our current bottle (which is our first) at the end of June, which we are now past the 45 days. Just curious if anyone knows if the insulin becomes less effective after the 45 days and how important it is to replace?

Hi Megan my cat is on Vetsulin and I actually got 4 months out of it. If you start to see your kitties pre shot numbers start to get really high or if he isn't moving that much when you test him after that , then I would think about replacing it.I started to write down the date when I first started to use a new vial. I read that some members were asking the same question about insulin and I'm glad I did because my vet never mentioned anything about how long the insulin could be good for. If I didn't come across the pots about it I probably would have continued to use the whole vial.
