? Insulin question/Recommendation

Has anyone used Vetsulin on their furbaby? If so, what was your experience with using it like?

It is not the best since it only lasts 8-10 hours. It was developed for dogs and work good for dogs since it last longer in dogs.
Better insulin are the pet insulin ProZinc and the human insulins Lantus (and it biosimilar Semglee which is a lot s less expensive than real Lantus https://www.goodrx.com/semglee?dosa...ulin glargine&quantity=1&sort_type=popularity) and Levemir.

If you can get a prescription for Lantus (a highly recommended insulin for cats), you can order from Canada.

Smeglee (generic Lantus) has a reasonable price in the US, I believe.

My cat did well with it in the beginning and went into remission after 4 months. When she came out of remission the version was no longer a good fit and I switched to prozinc.

The American Animal Hospital Association no longer recommends Vetsulin for treating feline diabetes. It has too short of a duration compared to Lantus (glargine) or Prozinc, both of which last 12-hours and are both recommended by the AAHA. The AAHA guidelines are here.
