I am not sure if I should give Baxter his shot tonight. I just introduced raw rabbit into his diet. I added not quiet a tablespoon into his regular canned food. He knew something was in there. He didn't eat much so I took it away & gave him about 1/4 of a 3 oz can.
My fear is he is going to throw up.
Here are his numbers for today.

Should I give him insulin?
How much?

I don't have his SS updated. I need to put his SS on my new Christmas toy. ;-)

You have given .25 into a 170 before and it's been fine, Jenn. You wouldn't want him to throw up, though. Will you be around to monitor?

Yes I'm around all night. Makes me nervous giving him the insulin & not knowing what that raw food will do to him. He didn't like it....lol. I felt bad giving it to him. I been giving him the Natures Variety canned rabbit, but something about the raw rabbit he doesn't like yet.
I don't blame him it's kind of stinky. :dizcat
I will give a small amount of insulin.
Thanks Sue!
I haven't got to tell you Happy New Year! So Happy 2012! I hope your Christmas was good!

Baxter had a nice day though!
I dont blame him for not like the rabbit, I wouldnt eat it either!
Hope he had a good night

Baxter didn't get sick from eating the raw rabbit. Well the very little he ate. I will try again tonight with it.
I ended up giving .25 at 9:30.
I tested him @ 12am-136
I'm sure he went a little lower & would have loved to catch it. I'm going to be around all weekend to try the raw food again & test late.
I feel so bad feeding him rabbit. I been feeding him Natures Variety canned rabbit. Every time I feed him I think of the cute white bunny I had growing up.

I know. I never have been able to feed raw.

The weekend is a great time to be a teeny bit more agressive with doses, monitoring often. The hope is what you see over the weekend will help you with any mini dosing needed during the week. It's also an opportunity to vary the 12/12 schedule and catch him as he heads up.
