I am worried.....not sure if this is urgent or not!

Griff has been doing really good. He was feeling great today. Ate lunch normal. Everything normal. Then for some reason he was not interested in dinner. VERY unusual!! But I got him to eat some raw chicken and a little bit of canned food, so I gave him injection. Right after that, I walked down the hall and noticed that he had puked up his dinner.

It has been warm in the house and he may have eaten some canned food that got left out too long. Maybe upset his stomach? I dunno. I just wanted to check in to see if I need to be worried.

I did a keto test this a.m.-negative.

How long since he had a shot? How long since he puked?

Assuming those happened recently, give him a few minutes 20-30 to settle, and see if he's interested in trying again on dinner. Onset for prozinc isn't until around +2, so you have a couple of hours after shot to see if he'll eat something.

It has been about 45 minutes. I will keep trying some food.

Also, good to see that you tested for ketones and it's negative. That becomes especially important when a cat isn't eating, so try to stay on it until his appetite is back. Not eating is often the first clue that a kitty is DKA, but as you said, it can also be things like just being overheated or having an upset stomach.

He just ate 1/2 can Fancy Feast and is snuggling up in my shoes. I will keep an eye on him and post a little later. Again, thank you!!!!
