Insulin Left out

Not a good night for my poor husband who was in a rush to get to his job and had to change, test robbie get numbers to me, wait for me to advise what to shoot, shoot, feed all animals and get out of the house fast - so along with leaving the bowl of cat food out where Robbie could get to it he left the insulin out on the kitchen counter, out of the box and it was there for 4.5 hours. It is garbage? I have a tiny bit left in the old bottle so I can mix enough tomorrow to get thru amps but I'm worried we'll have to buy another vial and this is practically brand new. So do I shoot my husband (and not with the hypo) or is it maybe still OK?

To paraphrase Dr. Lisa.... "look for repeatability before making any major decsisions...." So, no, don't shoot him this time. But if he does this again....tell him to make sure his insurance premiums are paid up to date
