Hello, everyone. The vet did Gucci's curves yesterday, and said he was still above 200 at the end of the day, so wanted to increase his dosage one unit. He's been at 2 units of Lantus since he was diagnosed about a month ago, and because he wouldn't cooperate with the vet, we've had to wait this long to get a curve. I had to feed him at home and then take him in, because he refused to eat for them no matter how hungry he was. Stubborn big boy... Haha.

I increased his dosage last night to 3 units, and he seemed fine. This morning I gave him his dosage, and he seems to be a little less active, and has gone under the bed to sleep. I've checked on him a couple of times, and his eyes are alert and he seems to be okay. My question is, is a little change expected as his body gets used to a different dose?

We usually increase the dose by .25 units a full unit increase is large. Are you home testing? It’s the best way to see how well the insulin is working and keep Gucci safe.

Numbers in the 200's are not very high. You said that was at the end of the day, but what was it mid cycle when it's lowest? Are you home testing? I strongly disagree with raising in whole units.
