Insulin and subQ Fluids

Hubby thinks he might have given Mister's insulin and subQ fluids on the same side by accident last night. Could that have caused these numbers? He had practically no carbs -- Only a few pieces of dry kibble in his food to entice him. Also, I gave him 2 TBSP of cooked chicken. Could that have done it?

Some cats do have numbers go up or down if given on the same side--
I have never had a problem with it--Dre actually seems to go lower if I do the same side.... ECID
fluids bring some cats BG down overall as well.
I would not worry too much and see what the next shot time says.... if it was that it should have cleared by then.

Which insulin?
Lantus forms small crystals in a neutral pH which gradually dissolve, so extra fluid may have affected that by affecting the pH.

I've never noticed a problem when I have given both at the same time, but then Rover absorbs the subq quite quickly.

I noticed with my cats that their BG level were lower that normal after they were given fluids.
