Seems to have calmed down a little. She was sensitive to any touch right before testing. Now can touch. Eating now like crazy.

Should I try fluids? She seems a little dehydrated too.

This morning she was great. Her coat felt great too. Now not so much.

Barb,
There has to be a reason this is happening. It's like the insulin is doing nothing. What was her number last night? Yesterday morning I see a 338 and you shot 2.1?

Carl

Yes, if you have fluids on hand, and she seems dehydrated, 50cc might help?

She's much calmer now.
The only diff this am is that I usually let her eat until 2 hours before, if I can catch that, and I didn't give her anything to eat this am. By the time she wanted it we were within 1.5 hr of testing. Everything else normal. Even better than normal..

The numbers you are seeing remind me of Kitty's when she was having Ptitis flareups. The insulin demands can change dramatically during acute flare ups. Kitty felt terrible when she had the Ptitis, but she would rebound. Have you had any blood work or ultrasounds done to rule out Ptitis. The acute Ptitis can have a very sudden onset. How is Chong's appetite? Do you have Bupe for pain?

She laid down for awhile as if she was exhausted. Then she became like her old self...like this morning before any of this happened. It's as if something went through her. She's eating like crazy right now. A few minutes ago she was meowing to let me know she wanted to go out.

Hi Kitty:
She had an ultrasound in feb and does have p-titis. I've never seen numbers like this though since we started insulin. I do have Bupe but she doesn't seem in any pain now. I was giving it to her 2x a day for a week or 2 until yesterday when she didnt seem like she needed it She's just eating like she's been starving. Isn't that high insulin.

In a few hours I'll check BG again and double check with a diff meter. I'm going give fluids now.

Now she's in her hiding spot. ...

Barb, I also have a cat that has ptitis flare-ups and is hard to manage .... I would continue with the bupe and do fluids until she feels better. Even if they don't seem in pain but they are having some ptitis symptoms, bupe will help quite a bit and yes the numbers are hard to regulate. You are doing the best you can and sometimes that's all you can do. Make sure she has plenty of food and water and hang in there!! when a cat is not regulated they seem always hungry .... and they need to eat. With Payne I would give her the meat baby food in between her meals, that seemed to help a lot.
Nancy and Payne .....

Hi,
An update. I couldn't get the SS to work on iPad.

+1. 539
+5. 200
PMPS. 446

Fluids
Bupe
Pepcid

I'll post the SS when I'm on the computer.

Thanks all

Barb & Chong

This is hard, Barb. We aren't sure whether the pain numbers are pain/pancreatitis related or if she needs an increase. The insulin is definitely working as you got a good drop at nadir.

Will you be around at nadir if you increased by .25?
