Injection Site

I've never seen advice on cleaning/sterilizing injection site, like people do.
Does anyone use alcohol wipes? I wonder about germy litter dust on his skin, even tho his fur is thick.
I fear if Checkers smells the alcohol, he will not let me shoot.....or that it may sting, and he won't trust me after that.
I've only been giving injections for 5 days, so am still learning.

Barb, 4 years with Patches(GA), 5 1/2 years with Baby(GA), after 4+ years with Hope (she's off insulin right now) and over 6 years with Mishka I never once cleaned an injection site before shooting. Never a problem either.

I'm with Hope. Over 5 years with Jock now, no cleaning, no problem.

Thank you for replies. My RN daughter was disturbed that I didn't clean site first. I really didn't want to add another element to this routine.
