injectable pepcid question...

I am using u100 syringes. .03ml is 3u of insulin. i would ask your vet to help you convert. jojo helped me, then my vet confirmed. BUT, expect to get a wierd look, especially if you ask a tech. as far as they are concerned, insulin syringes are for insulin...nothing else. Once the conversion was done, and not as hard as they thought it made sense to them and the lightbulbs went off...they thought I was brilliant!

Home from vets with injectable pepcid. The instructions say to give 0.26ml SQ injection every 24 hours. I thought we dosed every 12 hours for this??? So, using my u100 syringes & carolyns info above....I should draw up 26 units of this to give him once a day? Or, should I draw up 13units & give twice per day instead? Strength is 10mg/ml.

Hi Gwen

I would give as instructed. It is a once or twice a day drug; in my hospital we use it once a day, it is the preference of the prescribing doctor.
