I just tested Yoyo and his Blood Glucose Levels dropped 112. I am going to feed him right now.Should I be CONCERNED? Is this normal? Please advise

Hey there Debra and welcome to the forum. Some kitties have a strong initial reaction when starting on Lantus. He is still in nice safe numbers and the +2 showing that he is lower than the pre shot indicates that the cycle can be active. So, can you get another test in a few hours?

Just a spoonful of LC when they start to drop fast can help to slow him down some, but like I said, he is still in nice safe numbers.

He is likely to bounce some tonight since he had a fast drop.

Sometimes there’s a strong response to the first shot. He’s not close to danger territory. I’d get a plus three and post the results in tge subject box if here’s another big drop someone will be stojbd for support.

Thank you! Please tell me what LC means? Sorry I don't know the abbreviations.

Oh, Sorry, LC means Low Carb

HC - High carb canned food (usually 16 - 24% carbs, depending on the cat)
MC – Medium carb food (usually 11 - 15% carbs, depending on the carb sensitivity of the cat)
LC - low carb aka reg canned food (usually 10% carbs or less, depending on the carb sensitivity of the cat)
